Akshay Kumar is reprising the character of 'Assault Sethu' played by Bobby Simha in the original version. The makers have made minor changes to the character, in terms of appearance (one-eyed) and body language. Akshay Kumar is brilliant and it looks like his performance is going to be one of the positive takeaways from the film. Akshay Kumar plays the titular character, while Kriti Sanon plays Myra Devekar, an aspiring filmmaker, reprising the role played by Siddharth. Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi reprise the characters played by Lakshmi Menon and Karunakaran respectively.
The trailer also has the trademark pulsating BG score of Jigarthanda and it amplifies the effect to greater levels. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film has cinematography by Gavemic U Ary and editing by Charu Shree Roy. Apart from the main leads, the film also has Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Sanjay Mishra, and Abhimanyu Singh, in supporting roles. The trailer is laced with a lot of action and masala, implying that the remake has been treated in a more commercialized format than Jigarthanda. Check out the newly released trailer of the film here:
