Ajith's famous No Means No dialogue from Nerkonda Paarvai becomes Indo-Polish film's title
A film that created a storm in Tamil Nadu and among Tamil-speaking people around the world was the Ajith Kumar starrer, Nerkonda Paarvai, released in 2019. Directed by Sathuranga Vettai, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and the upcoming Valimai fame H. Vinoth under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the courtroom drama is an official remake of the hit Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer, Pink, in Hindi, which turned out to be a big success upon its release in 2016. Among the notable common aspects of both the original and the Tamil remake was the dialogue, "No means no", spoken by Amitabh Bachchan and 'Thala' Ajith's characters in their films.
The "No means no" dialogue in both Pink and Nerkonda Paarvai were used to bring to light the subject of consent and won praises from fans and critics alike. The dialogue "no means no'' was spoken by Amitabh Bachchan in Pink defending Taapsee, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang in Pink, while Ajith uttered the same words in Nerkonda Paarvai supporting Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang, who once again reprised her role from the Hindi original. In that light, an Indo-Polish film has now made use of the Nerkonda Paarvai dialogue as its title, which was shot across India and Poland and has been announced to be releasing worldwide on March 22, 2021. No Means No stars Dhruv Verma, Gulshan Grover, Sharad Kapoor, including Polish actors, and has been directed by Vikash Verma, with the technical crew comprising Hariharan for the music, Michal Szewczuk, choreography by Shiamak Davar under the G7 Films banner.
According to reports, No Means No is a teen love story, with loads of action. Written by Hitesh Desai, the film's cast also includes Neetu Chandra, Armaan Kohli, Deepraj Rana, Sylwia Czech, Natalia Bak, Sharad S Kapoor among others. The plot of No Means No reportedly revolves around an Indian visiting Poland to take part in a skiing championship, who ends up falling head over heels in love with a Polish girl.
