Aaradhya Bachchan is the daughter of the celebrated couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan and is the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan. The 11 year old moved to the Delhi High Court through her father Abhishek Bachchan seeking to restrain various entities operating channels on YouTube from reporting fake news about her health. Reports stated that the channels claimed that her health deteriorated with some saying she was critically ill. News reports said that one of the entities even stated that she had died. The case was heard in the Delhi High Court on Thursday by Justice C Hari Shankar.
The Delhi High Court ruled in favour of Aradhya Bachchan and ordered several websites to stop publishing and disseminating objectionable videos of her. The judge reiterated that "every child should be treated with honour and respect whether it is the child of celebrities or a commoner”. They further stated that spreading misleading information about a child’s health is “Completed intolerable in law”. The court also asked YouTube an it's parent company Google to remove such misleading content. The court ordered the YouTube channels to be completely restrained from publishing, sharing and disseminating any content on any public platform across the internet relating to the state of the health of Aaradhya Bachchan.
The judges also asked Google to file a response stating their policy in dealing with objectionable content on its YouTube platform. This shows the strong actions taken by court against those who disseminate fake news. Aaradhya Bachchan was recently seen accompanied by her mother Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the grand opening of the Nita Ambani Cultural Centre and the actress also shared glimpses of her spending time with her daughter. Information Celebrities' kids are often prone to getting misused and spread without verification and they are also at the centre of rumours and gossip, said reports.
