The Prestigious Oscars or the Academy Awards is all set to be held on March 12 at Dolby Theatre, Hollywood and the event will be broadcasted globally. This year, the event is even more special, as Indian films have been nominated in three categories of the awards. Blockbuster film that became a global sensation RRR has been nominated in the Best Original Song Category for Naatu Naatu song. All That Breathes has been nominated for the documentary feature film and the Tamil documentary, The Elephant Whisperers has been nominated in the best documentary Short film category.
As people are excited to see Indian films take home the 95th Academy Awards, talented actor Suriya has fulfilled his commitment as an Oscar Committee member. In January, The actor was announced to be the first from the Tamil film Industry to get an invitation to be a member of the Oscar jury from the organisers of the prestigious awards. He was among the 397 artists who were invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He has now posted on Twitter that he has completed his duty by delivering his vote for nominees in the Oscars under various categories. Actor Suriya Sivakumar shared a screenshot of a computer screen that shows he has completed the voting process for the 95th Oscars finals. He shared the post with the caption “Voting done”.

The committee members are selected from among international artists for their distinguished contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Suriya Sivakumar was selected for his excellence in acting and producing Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru. In 2009, music composer AR Rahman was invited to join the Oscar committee and actress Kajol was the only actress invited to join the committee so far. Suriya was last seen in the extended cameo role in Kamal Haasan starrer film Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj
