When asked what is the thing that he looks for in a debut director and how they can approach him. The actor said “How I feel after hearing the story and I would see how they narrate the story. If you see, I have proudly introduced many directors' first, as debut directors. Compared with other actors, whoever it is. If you see Shankar, I was the one who found him, Pavithran, he came and narrated the story, I was a busy actor. Itls the judgement of will ge d the story. So, If you see Randy(Rathnavelu) cameraman, If I had thought he would not be able to do it, he would have made it, when he said Yuvan music I did not think for a moment. According to me, Whoever youngsters wants to come to narrate a story first in that story, If there is some stuff I judge and say let's go. Then I look for the producer because if he gets stuck in the middle what's the point, talent will be wasted? When Vignesh came and narrated Por Thozil's story, I saw a Shankar or Mani Sir’s narration, This I have said in interviews too. Something is there in that guy, a different kind of director, who goes by the rule with a storyboard and shot, like that. From a pin in every scene, he's very planned. When he narrated he took it as a film itself I felt, he would do it.". Here's the full interview:
