Actor Napoleon sworn, Minister of State
Tamil cinema's most versatile actor Napoleon was sworn in today as a Minister of State in�Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's new cabinet. As an actor, he has worked in more than 85 films and is proficient in all South Indian languages, including Tamil and Malayalam.
He entered politics in 2001, has been consistently winning every election and has also won the trust of the people. His entry into cinema was in 1991 with Pudhu Nellu Puddhu Nathu directed by Bharathi Raja, and he went on to act in several films. Some of his notable films include Seevalaperi Pandi, Vattaram, Devasuram and Ravanaprabhu.
He was honoured with Kalaimamani Award in 1998 and also bagged the M.G.R. Award the same year. He was conferred with the Best Actor Award by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for Ettu Patti Rasa. Some of his fothcoming films include Saleem, Pallikondapuram and Azhagarmalai.
