Viduthalai Part: 1 is the latest directorial of National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran. The film was released on March 31 and is running successfully in theatres. It has the well-known supporting actor Soori playing the lead role and has directors Rajiv Menon and Gautham Vasudev Menon in important roles with Vijay Sethupathi playing the role of Vaathiyar. The film also has Bhavani Sre, Chetan, Ilavarasu, Munnar Ramesh and Saravana Subbiah in supporting roles. It has music composed by Maestro Ilayaraja and the songs ware a hit even before the release of the film in theatres.
Chetan is a well-known supporting artist who acted in many Television serials and then did important roles in Polladavan, Shaam Dhoom, Saroja, Padikathavan, Tamizh Padam 2, Kaithi, Master, Dejavu, etc. He has also played an OC Police officer of the troops that the leading character Kumaresan belongs to in Viduthalai Part: 1. The Actor gave an exclusive interview with Galatta media and shared some interesting details about the film. Speaking about the challenges while shooting the film, he said “Every day reaching the spot was a challenge, apart from the challenges as an actor. I would applaud the technicians. Because they would have to take huge generators and go, our production team will take food and carry it for a long distance in the hilly region and come. So their efforts were huge". When asked about the aggressive Vetri Maaran that people saw in the making video, the actor said “He will do what is required for the shot”.
When asked how Vetri Maaran will be in the shooting spot. The actor Chetan said “Work will happen only if you are like that (aggressive), If you leave then everyone will be lethargic in their work. That too, only during shoot time, he will be like that. Now, for example, if we finished one shot here and the next shot should be their he will give that time (to set up lighting). At that time he won’t ask any questions.” when asked about his character in the film, Chetan said “As you said nobody saw me in this perspective, I like doing humour, but they didn’t consider me for humour roles. They would always (cast me in) serious or innocent roles, that's easy. Then I got a humour role. I wanted to do a villain role, but I didn't get that chance because our Industry works like that. If you do a hit film in a character then they will cast you in similar roles again. There is stereotyping, that's how it functions. So, I don't know how he thought of me for this character. That's the thing, Vetri Maaran is good at breaking boundaries, if you are doing in a line of characters, he will break it and make you do different characters. Even Soori, nobody would expected him in this character that is his (Vetri Maaran) special."
