A film that created sky-high expectations right from the moment of its announcement, Laal Singh Chaddha, is Aamir Khan's upcoming film after the mega blockbuster, Dangal, in 2016. An official remake of the iconic Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha is being directed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan and is a joint collaboration between the Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18 Pictures banners.

Apart from Aamir Khan, Laal Singh Chaddha has raised quite a lot of curiosity for its casting with names like Kareena Kapoor Khan playing the female lead and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi joining in for a major supporting role, which incidentally will mark his Bollywood debut. With production underway on the film for a while, Aamir Khan took to his Twitter page to officially release a poster featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan while expressing his desire to romance her in every film as it comes naturally to him. Based on a screenplay by Eric Roth and being adapted by Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni with Pritam in charge of the film's music, Laal Singh Chaddha will see Aamir Khan as a Sikh with fans now waiting to witness the acclaimed actor deliver the goods in reprising Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks’ portrayal of the character from Forrest Gump, when it comes out in theatres this Christmas.
