2018 is a recent hit Malayalam film that was released in theatres. The film has Tovino Thomas, Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Narein, Lal, Indrans, Sudheesh, and others in important roles. the film revolves around the Kerala floods that shook the state and are directed by June Anthany Joseph who previously made the film Sara's, Om Shanthi Oshaana and Oru Muthaasi Gahda. It was a blockbuster hit and it become popular post-release and was appreciated by many, It became the fastest Malayalam film to gross Rs.100 crores in box office collections. The makers had announced that the film will now release in their four languages including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil.
The production houses Kavya Film Company and PK Prime Production that bank rolled 2018 have now released the trailer of the film in multiple languages. The trailer begins with a news broadcast saying Idukki Dam is to open after 26 years and then shows a fisher folk saying her husband went into the sea and has not returned back. It then shows different characters in the film on different backgrounds before the rains begin. The trailer then follows the opening of the shutter in the Idukki dam and shows footage of floods. The video then shows shots of the character tackling the floods while the voice-over comes in the background saying he does not enjoy the rain now, all he wants is the rain to stop. The trailer also has the caption “The Unbelievable story of survival, courage, humanity and inspiration."
The trailer of 2018 ends with the announcement that it will release in Cinema soon. As the makers have not official release when the dubbed versions of the film in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi will be released in theatres, fans are anticipating the release soon. As the film has already entered the 100 crore club, it is expected to break more box office records.
