Coming out on November 29 in a grand manner is the highly anticipated 2.0 starring ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth in the lead role under Shankar’s direction. A Lyca Productions venture, the upcoming film also stars Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as the antagonist followed by British model turned actress Amy Jackson as the female lead with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Said to be one of the most expensive films to be made in Asia, the sci-fi action thriller has been filmed at a budget of over 500 crores and has also earned the esteemed distinction of being the first Indian film to feature SRL4D audio.
With promotions underway already, it has now been revealed that 2.0 has been censored with a UA certificate along with the runtime said to be around 2 hours and 28 minutes. It is quite interesting to see the film’s runtime at 148 minutes especially for a sci-fi venture that has grandeur written all over it, but also convinces us the story has been tightly packaged by Shankar and Co. We shall now have to wait for another 9 days to know what the team has planned for us when the film finally hits theatres worldwide.
