New York's Times Square lights up for Isha Mahashivratri celebrations, 'Shiva Shambho' and 'Har Har Mahadev' chants echo at The Big Apple - Daily news

It was a sight to behold as New York's Times Square lit up with chants of "Shiva Shambho" and "Har Har Mahadev", and a video showing the celebrations ahead of the grand Mahashivratri festivities with Sadhguru has now been released. The video shows New Yorkers grooving and dancing to the beats and has been posted on Sadhguru's X account, which has since been viewed by more than 140 million people. Sharing the video, Sadhguru, founder of Isha Foundation, wrote, "#TimesSquare, New York welcomes #Mahashivratri! The world is realising the significance of the Great Night of Shiva as a celebration of enhancing human potential and an opportunity for transformation. Let us make it happen." (sic)

The video screened at The Big Apple shows Sadhguru in front of the iconic face of Adiyogi in Tamil Nadu as the Mahashivratri celebrations at Isha has garnered the distinction of being one of the most-awaited events in the world every year. In that light, there will once again be immersive meditations at the celebrations guided by Sadhguru, including dazzing dance performances throughout the night, with the grand spectacle set to happen from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on March 8 and will be telecast live in 21 languages ​​including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.  

The Isha Mahashivratri event will see the Honorable Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar gracing the auspicious occasion in the presence of lakhs of people from all walks of life. There will also be captivating performances by renowned playback singer Shankar Mahadevan, Tamil folk singer Mahalingam, Punjabi music artiste Gurdas Maan, Carnatic musician Sandeep Narayanan, Bollywood music artistes Prithvi Gandharv, Rathijit Bhattacharjee, and Paradox (Tanishq Singh) to name a notable few.
