Dr. Vimala Rani Britto, a pioneer in the education industry, founded the prestigious St. Britto’s Academy along with her husband, Xavier Britto, Tamil film producer, and is also currently serving in the role of Director of Kerry Indev India Pvt Ltd. Having gone to great lengths and overcoming various struggles and challenges over the years, the Secretary & Correspondent of St. Britto's Group of Institutions is also at present the Chairman of VKAN-V Solutions, which is offering world-class, interactive education to students across the globe. Dr. Vimala Rani, who is also the Managing Director of Esthell Hotels & Resorts, and Director at Esthell Homes, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to shed light on how consistency made St. Britto’s Academy stand out in education over the past 25 years.
Speaking about the efforts and the hard work in making St. Britto’s Academy a revered and one of the most recognized educational institutions, Dr. Vimala Rani said, "You need to have clarity right from the beginning about what your goals are. I wanted to start a school and there should be a thought process that it must do good for everyone along with a foresight about how the students studying must come up. When we started this school despite hailing from a middle-class background, we achieved sustainability in the business and we came to a position where we were able to offer jobs to many others. At that point, we felt confident and happy." She added, "When a couple coming from Devakottai and Madurai can do this much, why shouldn't the students in my school be versatile like us in business or do good to others? When I was a child, my father told me that if we want to help others, it isn't mandatory that one has to extend support monetarily. It will be good enough if you have the heart to offer a helping hand. Since that message was deep-rooted in my heart, [I realized that starting] a school is the best thing because learning takes everyone to the next level."
