'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi stunned fans everywhere with three of his films - Laabam, Tughlaq Durbar and Annabelle Sethupathi - releasing in a span of two weeks last month. The National Award-winning actor has a long film lineup ahead next among which is the upcoming Mugizh, which has him sharing screen space with his daughter Shreeja Vijay Sethupathi for the first time, and actress Regina Cassandra playing the female lead. Mugizh has a short runtime at 62 minutes and has been produced by Vijay Sethupathi Productions in association with Pocket Money Films Productions, with the superstar actor taking to social media on Friday to announce October 8 as the film's theatrical release date.
Mugizh is the shortest film in Vijay Sethupathi's career and has him and Regina Cassandra playing a married couple, with Shreeja Vijay Sethupathi as their daughter. The Master villain tweeted, "Happy that our precious #Mughizh (62min),a film close to our hearts and homes releases on 8th October in theatres." Directed by debutant Karthik S, Mugizh has music by Revaa, with the technical team comprising of cinematographer Sathya Ponmar, editor Govindaraj R and lyrics penned by director Balaji Tharaneetharan of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Seethakaathi. A trailer for Mugizh was released earlier this year to a positive response and gave the first glimpse of the father-daughter duo of Vijay Sethupathi and Shreeja, with the story primarily revolving around a puppy dog.
