'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi left fans wanting for more with his power-packed performance as the villain in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master, which came out as a grand Pongal release, followed by capturing our hearts in the Aadal Paadal segment in the anthology Kutty Story, including setting the fire on screen in Uppena in Telugu. The actor has a number of big Tamil projects lined up ahead among which include late director S. P. Jananathan's Laabam, Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai, Vignesh Shivn's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Delhi Prasad Deenadayal's Tughlaq Durbar, Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan, Venkata Krishna Roghanth's Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Kadaisi Vivasayi under Kaaka Muttai fame M. Manikandan's direction, Annabelle Subramaniam being directed by veteran filmmaker R. Sundarrajan's son Deepak Sundarajan, the tentatively titled VJS 46 by Sun Pictures under Ponram's direction, a segment in Mani Ratnam's anthology Navarasa for Netflix under Bejoy Nambiar's direction, followed by the multilingual silent film Gandhi Talks, 19(1)(a) opposite Nithya Menen in Malayalam and his Bollywood debut Mumbaikar under cinematographer Santosh Sivan's direction, which incidentally is an official remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram. 

With the number of upcoming projects looking promising for Vijay Sethupathi, the National Award-winning actor is all set to take to the small screen and once again on Sun TV. Vijay Sethupathi will be hosting a fun-filled cooking show called MasterChef Tamil on the lines of Vijay TV's popular Cooku with Comali show, with early reports suggesting the program will include common people and celebrities as well. Sun TV has released two promos for MasterChef Tamil on the occasion of Mother's Day, which has Vijay Sethupathi informing viewers about the show. Although no air date has been announced yet, we can expect the show to begin broadcasting on Sun TV soon in the days ahead. 

MasterChef Tamil will be Vijay Sethupathi's return to hosting and once again on Sun TV after the 2019 reality talk show, Namma Ooru Hero, which had the actor interacting with many unsung heroes in the society who toiled for the betterment of others.
