Among the many who had honored the acclaimed veteran was Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi, who rushed to Nellai Bharathi's house amidst the lockdown across the nation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Vijay Sethupathi had paid his last respects to Nellai Bharathi and then consoled his wife while also offering money in a closed envelope in regard to the funeral expenses to the family members among whom include two sons.
