This Vijay and Atlee-inspired film becomes a blockbuster - check it out!
One of the most successful collaborations in Tamil cinema, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay and director Atlee have tasted grand success with each of their films they have worked on together. Starting with Theri in 2016, Vijay and Atlee then continued their blockbuster run with Mersal in 2017 and have yet again hit the bullseye now with their recently-released, Bigil, which came out worldwide this Diwali. In that light, an Assamese action drama film titled, Ratnakar: A New Myth of Love, said to be loosely inspired from Theri, has also become a blockbuster hit now. Ratnakar revolves around a single father played by Jatin Bora and his struggle to raise his daughter portrayed by Dubori and goes on to build on their bond.
Ratnakar: A New Myth of Love hit screens on October 11 and has been basking in box office glory with over 80% occupancy in theatres in Assam while also going on to take the biggest opening for an Assamese film. Ratnakar also has Barsha Rani Bishaya, Nishita Goswami, Rina Bora and Ashramika Saikia under the J.B. Production banner with music composed by Zubeen Garg, cinematography by Pradip Doimari, and Pratim Khaound for editing. Theri, which also had Samantha Akkineni and Amy Jackson as the female leads alongside actress Meena’s daughter, Baby Nainika and J. Mahendran in supporting roles, was the start of a highly successful partnership for both Vijay and Atlee, with the film going on to collect over 175 crores in box office collections.
