India is in the third phase of the nation-wide lockdown announced by the Central Government. This lockdown to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus will last till May 17th. However, now the Central Government has announced some relaxations for this lockdown and now, the Tamil Nadu State Government is also announcing some relaxations for this lockdown! Initially, only shops selling essentials were allowed to open and that too, only from 6:00 am till 1:00 pm. However, the timings were later revised to allow the shops to be open till 5:00 pm! Now, the TN Government has further relaxed the timings as well as allowed more shops to be open!

A latest announcement from the Tamil Nadu government has stated that Tea Shops would be allowed to reopen across the state, from May 11th! Tea Shops can be open but people are not permitted to consume tea at the shops. However, parcels would be allowed. Also, the TN Government has give permission for shops selling essentials to be open till 7:00 pm. The new revised timings for shops selling essentials are from 6:00 am till 7:00 pm and for other standalone shops would be from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm! Another update from the government is that all private companies within the Chennai City Police jurisdiction can operate with 33% staff, from 10:30 am till 6:30 pm and private organizations in districts other than Chennai can operate with 33% staff, from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm!
