The title of Thalapathy Vijay’s 64th film was revealed to be Master and we saw the intriguingly designed first look poster on the eve of New Year. This action thriller is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram and Kaithi fame and this project has excited the fans and film buffs ever since the announcement because of the freshness in the combination of Vijay and Lokesh. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and features Malavika Mohanan as the female lead.
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the antagonist, locking horns with Thalapathy Vijay and this will be the first time, the duo will be sharing screen space. A section of media had recently reported that the premise of Master is inspired from the 2011 Korean film, Silenced, which was reportedly a revolutionary film in that country.
However, when we checked with our sources close to the team of Master, they vehemently denied the report as a baseless rumour. We hear that Lokesh Kanagaraj has penned a fresh and original script for Master with ample support from Meyaadha Maan fame Rathna Kumar, Pon Parthiban and his direction team. Produced by XB Film Creators, Master is expected to release on April 9 ahead of the Tamil New Year weekend.
