STR has been actively shooting for his next, Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. This political drama’s shooting kickstarted last month in Chennai and the makers have so far shot a grand song sequence and a few important talkie portions. Following that, as already announced, the team has now left to Hyderabad for the next schedule. S.J.Surya, who is said to be playing the antagonist in the film, has joined the team and will start shooting for his portions in this schedule.

Apart from Simbu and S.J.Surya, actors like Manoj Bharathiraja, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren and Aravind Akash would also be a part of this schedule. The makers will shoot some important scenes at the newly erected sets in Ramoji Rao Film City. Producer Suresh Kamatchi shared the update on his official Twitter space for the fans. For people who have been waiting to see STR back in action, it looks like the days are not far.

If things progress as per plan, we can expect Maanaadu to hit the screens in August. Featuring Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, Maanaadu has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan. Check out Suresh Kamatchi’s tweet below:
