Simbu's Maanaadu adds 3 new actors | Venkat Prabhu | Yuvan

STR's Maanaadu has finally kicked off production starting today under Suresh Kamatchi's V House Production banner with Venkat Prabhu as the director featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Touted to be an mass masala political entertainer, the upcoming film announced for a theatrical release later this August had gone through several roadblocks after being announced in mid-2018.

With Simbu announced to be playing the role of a Muslim character named Abdul Khaaliq for the first time in his career, Maanaadu producer Suresh Kamatchi has now revealed on his Twitter page that three new actors namely Udhaya, Aravind Akash and Panchu Subbu have been roped in to be a part of the multi-star cast. Furthermore, it has also been announced that Umesh J. Kumar has come on board as the art director and it remains to be seen what the fate of Sekar is in Maanaadu after initially being announced to be serving in the said role.

Fans have been ecstatic after witnessing Simbu's tremendous efforts to transform himself physically for his role in Maanaadu with pictures from the film's pooja earlier today going viral on all social networking forums. The film is incidentally one many have been waiting for a long time to turn to reality as it marks the first-time coming together of STR, Venkat Prabhu and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Maanaadu has a strong star cast and a technical team among whom include SJ Suryah as the antagonist, Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, followed by Y. Gee. Mahendra, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope and directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in supporting roles with cinematography by Richard M. Nathan, editing by Praveen K. L., Rajeevan for the production design, action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva and costume designs by Vasuki Bhaskar.
