It is well known across the globe that Superstar Rajinikanth is the King of Kollywood and one of the biggest stars not just in India but across the world. He has an avid fan following in many countries and almost every new movie of his is celebrated by fans and audiences everywhere. Whatever the year maybe and whenever one of his movies release, it becomes the highlight of the year. Rajinikanth is called the one and only Superstar for a reason. Rajini rocked 2019 with his Pongal release Petta, however this year’s Pongal wasn’t as fruitful for Rajinikanth as expected, his Darbar movie which released on the 9th of January couldn’t get the box office registers ringing as much as the producers wanted.

After the release of Darbar, Rajini also appeared on Television for a special show. Yes, after all these years on the big screens, Rajni recently made his TV debut by being a special guest on the Discovery Channel show Into the Wild, with Bear Grylls. This popular show hosted by Bear Grylls has a very good following and there have been many celebrities on this show, including our Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former American President Barack Obama, Julia Roberts, Roger Federer, Kate Winslet and others. Even Rajinikanth’s show turned out to be a huge success. It was aired during the initial stages of the Corona lockdown.

Ace cinematographer Richard M Nathan has shared an unseen photoshoot image of Rajinikanth which was taken for Enthiran promotion in the year 2008. Richard shared two stills from the photoshoot, only one of them was used for the promotions of Enthiran, none of us have seen the other photo which he has shared just now. Many believed this was a CGI design when released but Richard has clarified that Rajinikanth strained hard to get this look right - “This was a photoshoot I did for #enthiran in 2008. Ppl thot it was CGI, it's not. Thalaivar was pained for the shoot. Check the unreleased second photo. #throwback #alwaysthalaivar #superstar”

Richard M Nathan began assisting KV Anand and worked on Khakee and Sivaji. He got acquainted with Shankar while working in Sivaji and that’s how he got the chance to be involved in Enthiran’s promotional shoot. Richard Nathan made his debut as cinematographer with Vasanthabalan's Angadi Theru, where he shot on the streets of the crowded Ranganathan street in Chennai. He has then gone on to work in movies like Ko, Samar, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Vanakkam Chennai, Mr Chandramouli, Kaali, and Thimiru Pudichavan.
