It’s official now - ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth and director Siva will be joining hands with their project announced to be titled as Thalaivar 168 and will be produced by Sun Pictures. The reputed production house is associating for the third time with Rajinikanth after their previous blockbuster collaborations, Enthiran in 2010 and Petta released earlier this year. Speculations of Rajinikanth and Siva coming together shot up after the iconic actor invited the Viswasam director to his residence at Poes Garden in Chennai earlier in May. Prior to their interaction earlier this year, the two had previously met well over a year back during the time of Vedalam’s release. With Rajinikanth, Siva and Sun Pictures now officially revealed as part of Thalaivar 168, we can expect further announcements to be made in the days ahead regarding the rest of the cast and crew with composers Yuvan Shankar Raja and D. Imman said to be frontrunners to score the film’s music.

As of now, it remains to be seen when filming on Thalaivar 168 will kick-off considering director Siva is also attached to Studio Green’s Suriya 39, which also is still said to roll into production soon. With Rajinikanth wrapping up shooting for his upcoming action cop drama, Darbar, under the Lyca Productions banner and A. R. Murugadoss’s direction, we need to see how things turn out from this point of time.
