Rajinikanth's reaction to Asuran interval scene revealed by Kalaipuli S. Thanu
National Award winners Vetri Maaran and Dhanush's fourth-time collaboration, the period action drama, Asuran, after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai, went on to taste massive critical and box office success after its theatrical release last year and still continues to be a widely streamed film on Amazon Prime. An adaptation of the acclaimed Tamil writer, Poomani’s novel titled, Vekkai, the blockbuster film produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations banner featured chart-buster songs and a thunderous background score by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
With the film last week completing a century in its theatrical run, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu today during the Asuran 100 days success meet went on to speak about veteran iconic actor Rajinikanth's reaction after watching the film. Producer Thanu stated, "'Superstar' Rajinikanth enjoyed Asuran a lot and screamed 'Baasha Baasha' during Dhanush's interval block transformation scene. Rajini sir also said that he should have acted in the film after watching the scene where Dhanush falls at people's feet in front of the public in that locality,". This is the first we've heard of Rajinikanth's reaction after he watched the film and is no doubt interesting, which makes us wonder how his own interpretation to Dhanush's Sivasaami character adapted to screen by Vetri Maaran from writer Poomani's Vekkai would have turned out to be.
Apart from Vetri Maaran’s direction and intense screenplay and Dhanush’s portrayal of his character, Asuran stands out with its star cast’s performances among whom Malayalam actress Manju Warrier, and Teejay Arunasalam leave a lasting impression followed by Ken Karunas, Balaji Sakthivel, Pasupathi, Ammu Abhirami, Prakash Raj, Pawan, A. Venkatesh playing their roles amicably.
