Popular costume designer Eka Lakhani is known for her collaboration with director Mani Ratnam in films like O Kaadhal Kanmani, Kaatru Veliyidai, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Vaanam Kottattum and more. She also happens to be the costumer for the historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan, that has an ensemble star cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, and others. The much sought after designer’s next work would be Madhavan’s next, Maara.

This new film, which is directed by Dhilip Kumar of Kalki (Netflix Movie) fame, is the official Tamil remake of Dulquer Salmaan’s acclaimed hit, Charlie. Shraddha Srinath will be seen as the female lead, reprising Parvathy’s character and this is her second outing with Maddy after Vikram Vedha. Nedunchaalai and Adhe Kangal fame Sshivada Nair will be seen playing a crucial role in the film.

Produced by Pramod Films, Maara has music scored by Ghibran and cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan of Soodhu Kavvum, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Kanaa fame. Additional cinematography is done by Karthik Muthukumar. The film’s editing is handled by Bhuvan Srinivasan.
