One of the most popular Indian films of the 21st Century, Lagaan, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker featured Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Rachel Shelley, Paul Blackthorne in the lead roles with memorable music by ‘Isaipuyal’ A. R. Rahman. Since then, Ashutosh Gowariker has directed several notable acclaimed films among which include Swades with Shah Rukh Khan, Jodhaa Akbar with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Mohenjo Daro in 2016. That said, Ashutosh is now back with his next film, Panipat, a historical period drama based on the Third Battle of Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon and is scheduled to release on 6 December 2019. With the film gearing up for a massive theatrical release next month, the breathtaking action-packed Panipat trailer has now been released.

As with any Ashutosh Gowariker film in the past, there are plenty of expectations for Panipat as his Lagaan was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 74th Academy Awards in 2002. Apart from Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in Panipat, the film produced jointly by Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and Vision World Films banners also includes veteran Bollywood actresses Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman alongside Mohnish Bahl, Mir Sarwar, Milind Gunaji, Nawab Shah, Mantra, Kunal Kapoor among others in supporting roles with music by the Ajay-Atul duo.
