An actress who took South India by storm after her entry in cinema in 2002, Namitha became a sensation among fans in Tamil Nadu after starring alongside 'Captain' Vijayakanth in Engal Anna. She soon landed several big projects among which include 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Azhagiya Tamil Magan, 'Thala' Ajith's Billa, Sathyaraj's Maha Nadigan, Englishkaran, Kovai Brothers, Sarathkumar's Aai, the romantic thriller Naan Avanillai, while also starring alongside iconic Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in Pulimurugan. 

Namitha, who got married to Veerendra in 2017, was last seen in Tamil cinema in Bharath's Pottu in 2019, and subsequently appeared as a contestant in the first season of the smash hit Vijay TV reality show, Bigg Boss. She created a huge stir during her stint on Bigg Boss Tamil season one and is at present working on her upcoming Tamil film titled Bow Wow, which incidentally is her debut venture as a producer. Bow Wow, which is being made in Tamil and Malayalam, is reportedly also being planned to be released in other languages as well. 

Namitha's name made the headlines sometime back after she was seen inside a well at a shooting location leaving many bystanders worried. Initially, it was believed that Namitha had fallen into the well while trying to recover her phone after it slipped from her hand. Only later it was revealed that it was a sequence for Bow Wow, with new pictures from the shooting spot now being released by the actress on her Instagram page. This time, Namitha has informed followers on social media that she has performed her own stunts in the film, including one photo showing her being held in the air using ropes. She captioned the photos, "Great Work Requires Hard Work !! Doing my Own stunts on the Sets of ' Bow Wow ' Movie !! Hey Nikki !" There is quite a lot of excitement for Bow Wow as it will see Namitha's return to the big screen after a gap of almost two years, with the latest shooting spot pictures raising curiosity among fans.
