One film that the entire country is waiting with bated breath to watch in theatres is the highly-anticipated period action drama, K.G.F: Chapter 2, starring 'Rocking Star' Yash in the lead role. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the upcoming film is the sequel to the 2018 nationwide blockbuster, K.G.F: Chapter 1, and has already been postponed twice from releasing in theatres due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns over the past one and a half years. In that light, Yash took to social media on Sunday to drop an announcement on the release plans informing fans that KGF: Chapter 2 will be hitting theatres worldwide on April 14, 2022. 

Yash tweeted, "The uncertainties of today will only delay our resolve, but the eventuality is as promised.We will be out in theaters on april 14th 2022. #KGF2onApr14," while tagging director Prashanth Neel, production banner Hombale Films, producer Vijay Kiragandur, Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, actress Raveena Tandon and the film's heroine Srinidhi Shetty. Director Prashanth Neel took to Instagram himself and made the release date announcementt along with a special new poster carrying the date. Yash's latest statement for KGF: Chapter 2's release is the third one after the makers earlier announced the film to come out in theatres on October 23, 2020, which was then pushed to this year on July 16. However, the pandemic and the lockdowns played a major spoilsport in KGF 2's release, with the latest announcement making it clear that the makers are taking their time to ensure that the film will be out only theatrically. 

Being produced by Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films, K.G.F: Chapter 2 featuring music by Ravi Basrur includes a stellar cast among whom include actress Srinidhi Shetty reprising her role as the female lead along with Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag, Archana Jois, Vasishta N Simha, Avinash BS, Achyuth Kumar, Balakrishna returning to their original roles, while Prakash Raj, Raveena Tandon and Saran Shakthi are the new big additions. The trade talk surrounding KGF 2 has been massive right from the moment it went on floors, with the film's worldwide satellite rights recently being acquired by Zee. Just as with KGF: Chapter 1, the sequel made in Kannada will be getting dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam, with the Tamil version's distribution rights bagged by leading production house Dream Warrior Pictures.
