Tamil cinema fans had good reason to cheer this year amidst the pandemic when it was announced officially by production banner Screen Scene Media Entertainment that National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh would be a part of their film titled Saani Kaayidham under Arun Matheswaran's direction. It had also revealed that blockbuster acclaimed director Selvaraghavan would be making his acting debut in the upcoming project, which will also include music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. A title look poster was released in August this year, which drew a lot of attention, including raising curiosity among fans. 

The title look poster received a tremendous response, with the makers on Saturday on the festive occasion of Diwali announcing that a special treat from Saani Kaayidham would be unveiled by actor Dhanush on Sunday. In that light, the Saani Kaayidham first look poster has now been released and introduces both Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh as "the most wanted". This introduction poster features both stars in front of knives and other sharp lethal weapons, while covered in blood stains. We see the two with bruises and cuts on their faces and necks, while holding serious expressions on their faces, in what appears to be them being held captive after a possible murder. 

Saani Kaayidham is Arun Matheswaran's second directorial after his raw action drama, Rocky, starring Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi and legendary director Bharathiraja, which is still awaiting its release. Rocky's trailer released last year received a solid response from film aficionados, with many complimenting Arun for his intense, dark and gritty style of filmmaking. It is to be noted that Galatta Media was the first to report in November 2019 that the up-and-coming director would be joining hands with Screen Scene Media Entertainment for a project, which was later revealed to be as Saani Kaayidham. The venture has generated loads of excitement among fans as it is also Selvaraghavan's acting debut, with many keen on seeing his acting chops after witnessing him ace on the directorial front in a career spanning nearly two decades. 

Touted to be an intense and raw action drama, the upcoming Saani Kaayidham is a female-centric film and will also include in its technical team names like Yamini Yagnamurthy for the cinematography, editing by Nagooran and production design by Ramu Thangaraj. Stunts in the film will be overseen by Dhilip Subbarayan, followed by Vinay Sridhar for the sound design and costume design by Madhulika Kapilavayi.
