The second son of veteran actor Sivakumar and his wife Lakshmi - Karthi has been impressing one and all with his talent, right from his very first movie Paruthiveeran! The talented star has proven time and again that he is capable of pulling off intense as well as casual roles with elan. The entire cinema industry had been badly affected by the lengthy COVID lockdown but now, with the relaxation in the lockdown rules, shooting has been allowed with proper precautions. Just recently, after wrapping up shoot for his Sultan, the Siruthai star has started dubbing for the project. He is also a part of director Mani Ratnam's magnum opus - Ponniyin Selvan! Now, Karthi himself has shared some great news!

The 43-year-old star and his wife Ranjani have turned parents for a second time! Just a couple of minutes back, Karthi took to his Twitter handle to announce this wonderful news to all his fans and followers! Karthi's tweet stated that he and his wife had been blessed with a baby boy and he went on to thank all the doctors and nurses who took them through this life changing experience. He also thanked god and sought everybody's blessings for the little one! Karthi and Ranjani were married on July 3rd, 2011 and the couple welcomed their first child - daughter Umayaal on January 11th, 2013! Ranjani holds a Master's degree in English and Karthi's marriage with her was arranged by the elders. 

There are speculations that Karthi is in talks with director PS Mithran and that the duo might work together on a project soon! It is as yet unsure as to when the Ponniyin Selvan team is planning to resume shoot as the star-cast is huge and being made in a period setting, would involve a lot of people and all COVID safety precautions are to be followed!
