Dhaakad is Bollywood's first spy film to star a female actor as the film's main lead. The movie is also India's first large-scaled multilingual project with a female protagonist. The movie is expected to open doors to more high-budget female-centric films. The makers of Dhaakad have promised never seen before action by Kangana Ranaut who stars as the film's lead actor. The film marks Kangana's foray into action as she will be seen playing a spy named Agent Agni, a master of disguise and a virtuoso at combat.
The film's official teaser just dropped and it looks like something straight out of a Hollywood movie. It has a John Wick vibe to it given its action sequences, pacing, and all-out visceral portrayal of violence as she kills people and stabs eyeballs like poking holes in a sheet of paper. The teaser gives a glimpse of Dhaakad world where we see Kangana going ultra instinct mode as she packs punches, throws, and kicks, unlike anything we have ever seen before. The text in the middle of the teaser reads, "Why should boys have all the fun?
Kangana will be sporting seven different looks in the film and will be seen performing all her stunts and action sequences too. Kangana took to the liberty of taking the official teaser of her upcoming film to her social media to share it with her fans and followers along with a caption that read, "Action. Style. Thrill. The upcoming spy action-thriller film is directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Asylum films, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, and Sohel Maklai Productions. Apart from Kangana Ranaut, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee among others. Reports suggest that Kangana will be sporting seven different looks in the film and will be seen performing all her stunts and action sequences too. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on May 20.
After Dhaakad, Kangana will be seen in Tejas, Sita and Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda. She will supposedly play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama, titled Emergency. Currently, Kangana is basking in the success of her OTT debut Lock Upp, a reality show which sees her as a host.
