One of the biggest films currently in production, Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 marks the actor turned politician’s reunion with director Shankar after their 1996 blockbuster, Indian. Being produced under the Lyca Productions banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, the upcoming action drama film resumed full-fledged filming sometime back after the project was officially announced in January earlier this year. With production in full swing over the past few days in Chennai and at present in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, sources close to us have now revealed that actor Vivek, who is also a part of the film, will be joining the crew for the next leg of filming to take place at Jaipur and various other locations across Rajasthan from October 17. Vivek’s inclusion in Indian 2 makes it the first time he will be seen in a starring role in a Kamal Haasan film and also the fifth occasion he will be working alongside Shankar after appearing in Boys, Anniyan, Sivaji and Enthiran.

Being planned for an April 14, 2021 release, Indian 2 has a lot riding in its favor apart from the team up of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar as its massive star cast includes names like Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Vidyut Jamwal, Vivek, Delhi Ganesh among others in vital supporting roles and a stellar technical team that has editor Sreekar Prasad, art director T. Muthuraj and cinematographer R. Rathnavelu. Furthermore, there is a strong speculation that Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor is likely playing a role for which a formal announcement is yet to be made by the makers.
