Kollywood and the entire Indian film industry were shocked when an accident occurred at the Indian 2 shooting spot on February 19th! Three people - Krishna (Assistant Director), Chandran (Art Assistant) and Madhu (Production Assistant), lost their lives in this accident when a 150-foot crane fell down on them, in the sets erected at the EVP Film City. Director Shankar, Kamal and Kajal, who were also present at the shooting spot, escaped narrowly from the accident. The Police had then asked all those involved to come to the Commissioner's Office for formal enquiry.

However, earlier today, Kamal Haasan has alleged that he is being subject to harrassment by the Police, to re-enact the accident sequence. He has stated that this is causing him mental trauma and has approached the Madras High Court to take necessary action. Sources in the know state that the Court has admitted Kamal Haasan's petition and an urgent hearing is reportedly happening in this regard, even now. Shoot for Indian 2 had been suspended following this horrific incident and was scheduled to resume post clearing the issues in this regard.

Unfortunately, with FEFSI deciding to halt all shooting for movies as well as TV serials, from March 19th, it is not sure when the shoot for Indian 2 would resume. A skeletal team of this project had recently flown to Bolivia to shoot for a portion of a song, featuring Kajal Aggarwal and that has been completed.
