Actor Jiiva’s Gypsy created quite a lot of curiosity when it was announced last year and was recently given an ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board. A romantic road drama film, Gypsy has been directed by Raju Murugan and is his next directorial after he won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil for his 2016 political satire, Joker. Produced by Olympia Movies, Gypsy has seen a long release delay after production wrapped up last year and will now finally be released on January 24, 2020 in light of the Republic Day celebrations. Apart from Jiiva, Gypsy includes Natasha Singh as the female lead followed by Malayalam actor Sunny Wayne in a major supporting role. A politically-driven trailer for the film was released a few months back and showed audiences what to expect in terms of an intense story. The film’s music by Santhosh Narayanan has gone on to become successful with a special promo video for a song titled 'Very Very Bad' being shot featuring reputed social activists Thirumurugan Gandhi and Piyush Manush and veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader R. Nallakannu receiving a strong response from fans.
