The death toll around the world after the coronavirus pandemic is only on the rise as over 40,000 people have been declared dead so far and millions affected with a cure for the dreaded disease yet to be found. As many popular names and leading celebrities from across the globe are falling prey to the COVID-19 outbreak, popular American singer and songwriter, Adam Schlesinger, known for being one of the co-founders of music bands such as Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, and Tinted Windows, passed away yesterday (April 1) after his battle with coronavirus.

Adam Schlesinger, 52, had been hospitalized in Poughkeepsie, New York, due to health complications caused by COVID-19 and was placed on a ventilator nearly two weeks back. Schlesinger is best known for his 2019 Emmy Award-winning song, 'Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal' from the TV musical drama, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which was incidentally one among his three Emmy wins to date. He had also earned an Oscar nomination for writing the title song on the Tom Hanks-directed 1997 musical comedy, That Thing You Do!, in 1997, with the two-time Academy Award-winning actor too expressing his condolences on Twitter.
