Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise went on to be one of the biggest blockbusters hits of 2021. It closed off the year with a bang with its release on 17 December 2021. The pan-Indian film sparked a massive craze amongst fans from all over the world and has been receiving praises over praises ever since. With its OTT release, the film has only garnered more attention and many more fans on an international level.
While we are eagerly currently waiting for the second installment of the film to release, a new report has come up that suggests that a third installment is on cards as well. This crucial information comes from none other than Fahadh Faasil himself who plays the role of the ruthless police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. During a recent promotional interview for his upcoming film Malayankunju, Fahadh shared the details of his other projects, including the sequel Pushpa: The Rule. Fahadh revealed that director Sukumar conceived this film initially as a standalone movie.
Fahadh said, “The first scene that was narrated to me was the scene in the police station. When I was first offered this film, there was no Pushpa 1 and 2. That scene led to an interval break and then came my promotion in the movie. When Sukumar sir narrated the story, Pushpa was supposed to be a one-part film. After the police station scene and my part in the second half, it was made into two parts. Recently, when he spoke to me, he asked me to be prepared for Pushpa 3 as he had enough material to do it."
