Dhanush's highly anticipated Karnan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, is all set to hit the screens in the month of April and if reports are to be believed, the film is planned to release on April 9, ahead of the Tamil New Year weekend. The fans are eagerly waiting for the d-day to celebrate the film in the theatres. The promo teaser which released last week, showed us a glimpse of Dhanush’s character and his makeover looked exciting. From what we saw in the teaser, it looked like Karnan is going to be a very important film in Tamil cinema and just like how Mari Selvaraj managed to raise some strong questions through his first film, Pariyerum Perumal, he seems to have got another film with a similar flavour and impact.

The makers have now made a breaking announcement, revealing that the audio rights of the movie has been snapped by popular music label, Think Music. The film is bankrolled by veteran producer Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations and interestingly his association with Think Music continues with Karnan. Thanu’s previous production ventures - Thalapathy Vijay’s Theri and Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali were also associated with Think Music for the songs. Think Music will be quite happy with the acquisition of a massive biggie like Karnan and the makers will now start releasing the songs, one by one. We may even expect a single number to release very soon.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed the songs and background score of the film and his work is expected to play a crucial role in elevating the movie to a different level. Sharing the happy news with the fans, Kalaippuli Thanu tweeted, “Immensely happy to associate with Think Music again after the blockbuster hits, Theri & Kabali. #Karnan audio rights has been bagged by @thinkmusicindia for a record breaking price #KarnanWithThink @dhanushkraja @Music_Santhosh @mari_selvaraj”.

Theni Eshwar has handled the camera, while Selva RK has taken care of the editing. Popular Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan will be making her debut in Tamil cinema with Karnan, while the star cast also includes the likes of Lal, Natty (aka) Nataraj, Yogi Babu, Gouri Kishan, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, and others. When we have a strong performer like Dhanush at the front and with a filmmaker like Mari Selvaraj wearing the directorial hat, one can be sure of the film’s impact and everyone is already eagerly looking forward to the release.
