Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh addressed the press on Monday saying 31 children under the age of 10 years have tested positive for the coronavirus. She added that all necessary steps are being taken to address the situation at hand and proper treatment is being administered to all. She added that a total of 98 fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported on Monday taking the total number of cases in Tamil Nadu to 1173 with 58 people discharged to date and none being put on the ventilator at present.

Dr. Beela further went on to say that one person died taking the toll to 11 in the state and of the 91 of the 98 new cases reported today were from attendees and their contacts from the single source event in Delhi last month. She then said that the remaining seven affected were contact cases while adding that eleven doctors and five hospital staff have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in Tamil Nadu.
