A film that has massive curiosity and excitement surrounding it, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Bigil announced as a Diwali release is coming out under the AGS Entertainment banner with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and has been made at a budget of Rs. 180 crores, making it one of the most expensive ventures to be ever made in Tamil cinema till date. The upcoming sports action drama marks the third occasion Vijay and director Atlee are joining hands after their previous blockbusters, Theri and Mersal, with the superstar set to be seen in dual roles as father and son. With the Bigil trailer released recently getting a stunning response from fans, all sights are now set on the film’s theatrical release. That said, Creative Producer Archana Kalpathi has now issued a statement on Twitter saying the Bigil censor formalities are done and the film has been certified with a ‘U/A’ certificate. Furthermore, the release date is set to be announced soon with the film’s runtime revealed to be at 2 hours and 58 minutes.

Bigil will be Vijay’s third straight Diwali release after his Sarkar last year and Mersal in 2017 with massive expectations surrounding the Atlee directorial especially post the action-packed trailer unveiled last week. Vijay fans are an ecstatic lot considering the Bigil trailer had packed in electrifying action while also showing the superstar’s swag in top form. Apart from Vijay, the film also includes huge star cast featuring Nayanthara Kathir, Vivek, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Indhuja, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Vivek, Yogi Babu, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha Iyer, Soundararaja, Gayathri Reddy, Devadarshini, ‘Thaadi’ Balaji, Dheena among others in important supporting roles.
