Maria Juliana became an instant sensation across Tamil Nadu in 2017 after she emerged out of the shadows and into the spotlight for the first time when she took part in the Jallikattu protests. One of the most recognized faces to take part in the social movement, she went on to raise several important points and questions during the protests, which drew attention from several parts of the world. Julie then surprised everyone when she announced her entry into the hit Tamil reality TV show, Bigg Boss, in its first season. Post her stint on Bigg Boss Tamil season 1, Julie appeared in several endorsements, while also landing a number of film offers. She subsequently made special appearances in Vemal's Mannar Vagaiyara and Hiphop Tamizha's Naan Sirithal. 

Julie, who has of late been keeping herself busy with photo shoots, has been trending on social media for a while now with her pictures on a beach. Now, taking time off, Julie shared a prank video on her Instagram page where she is apparently seen trying to kiss her friend on his cheek, but eventually trolls the viewers. Both Julie and her friend are seen laughing uncontrollably next, with fans asking her in the comments who her friend is. Many have posted queries under the video asking Julie whether the person alongside her in the video is her friend or boyfriend. 

For a while now, Bigg Boss Julie's pictures have taken social media by storm, with her beach photo shoots receiving a strong positive response from fans. It is to be noted that Julie stunned fans last year in November when she took part in a beach photo shoot, with pictures of sand covered all over her except her face drawing a lot of attention. She subsequently revealed in the same photo shoot that the pictures were for an upcoming film regarding which she would be making an announcement at a later time. Julie's upcoming film projects include the devotional thriller, Amman Thayee, with its promos and trailer released sometime back on social media. She will also be seen in a film titled Polladha Ulagil Bayangara Game (PUBG) alongside Bigg Boss Tamil season 2's Aishwarya Dutta, including another venture titled Utthami and an untitled project, which last heard had kicked off with a formal puja.
