Ashwin Kumar will be making his debut as a lead actor with the upcoming Tamil film, Enna Solla Pogirai which is expected to take a good opening at the box office. Ashwin garnered wide attention on social media after his speech in the film's audio launch turned controversial. Eventually, Ashwin apologized for his speech and added that his words were not intentional. Enna Solla Pogirai was scheduled to hit the screens on December 24 for the Christmas weekend and the fans were eagerly looking forward to the d-day. However, the makers have now postponed the film's release to a later date due to reasons undisclosed.

Ashwin took to his official Instagram page to share his thoughts about the postponement. His official note read, "I have waited long for my debut FDFS and it's getting extended. Pulling myself together with whatever is left over. Working to come back stronger and giving my best in entertaining all of you. Looking forward to meet you soon in the theatres. #EnnaSollaPogirai #FromNowhereToHere #BelievingDestiny". The film's director, Hariharan, while announcing the postponement, mentioned that the team is targeting a January 2022 release. Looking at the possibilities, the film is likely to release during the Republic Day weekend, but let us wait for an official word from the makers.

The official tweet from director Hariharan on Enna Solla Pogirai's postponement read, "Good things take time. #EnnaSollaPogirai is the best thing that has happened to me and it is taking some time. We will see you in theatres in January 2022, with the same love that you have been giving us". Produced by Trident Arts, the film has music composed by the popular musical duo, Vivek - Mervin who have delivered super hit songs that have found a place in the playlists of the youth.
