A.R.Rahman's last release was the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Dil Bechara in which his songs and background music turned out to be a huge hit. The fans were completely in love with the legendary composer's work. He has an exciting set of projects lined up. Rahman is composing music for Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra and the first single, 'Thumbi Thullal' which released a few weeks back opened to an overwhelming reception from the fans. Sivakarthikeyan's sci-fi thriller Ayalaan (directed by Ravikumar) will have music by A.R.Rahman and the fans are eagerly waiting for this fresh combination. Rahman also has Ponniyin Selvan which is directed by his mentor, Mani Ratnam. In one of his earlier interviews, Rahman had revealed that Ponniyin Selvan is the most challenging project in his career and it is indeed going to be interesting to see how the Mozart approaches the film.

Apart from these movies, Rahman will also be composing music for Akshay Kumar - Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re (directed by Aanand L Rai), Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham, 99 Songs and Le Musk.

Rahman has now made an exciting announcement revealing that he will be presenting the upcoming Hindi film, Atkan Chatkan. Rahman unveiled the motion poster of the film and wished the team for the success. This new film will have a direct OTT release on Zee 5 platform and it will release on September 5. Rahman tweeted, "Glad to announce the premiere of the movie #AtkanChatkanOnZEE5 on 5th Sept! The heartfelt story of Guddu & his friends is full of hopes, dreams & rhythmic beats. Atkan Chatkan deals with the story of five children who aspire to achieve big as musicians. Touted to be a heartwarming film, Atkan Chatkan has music scored by Drums Shivamani and notably this is his first film in Hindi cinema. Atkan Chatkan is directed by popular ad filmmaker Shiv Hare. Young child prodigy, Lydian Nadhaswaram who won the CBS talent show, The World's Best, plays one of the leads in this movie. Lydian took to his Instagram page to thank Rahman for presenting the film.
