OFFICIAL: Amitabh Bachchan joins Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's mega budget film
A pan-Indian actor post the gargantuan success of his Baahubali films, Prabhas' popularity around the country shot up and was last seen in the high-budget action flick Saaho. He has since been cast in three big upcoming ventures among which include Radhe Shyam opposite Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo sensation Pooja Hegde under Radha Krishna Kumar's direction currently being shot in Italy, followed by the tentatively titled Prabhas 21 also starring Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone under Mahanati director Nag Ashwin and Om Raut's recently-announced Adipurush, in which he will be squaring off against Saif Ali Khan.
Among the ventures in the lucrative film lineup, Prabhas 21 being planned to made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi has been one of the most talked projects in recent times, which has been revealed to be a mega budget entertainer, being bankrolled by C Aswani Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. It is to be noted that Vyjayanthi Movies recently celebrated their 50th year in the entertainment industry. The makers who had recently revealed that legendary director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao will be playing the role of a mentor in the film have now dropped a bombshell announcement. In their latest statement, Vyjayanthi Movies has said that legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has joined the cast of the film. The addition of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan and the likes of his acting calibre will no doubt propel the film to greater heights and has already created massive excitement and expectations among fans. Check out the announcement video below:
Prabhas 21, which was initially being planned to roll into production in August, has since been delayed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. According to reports, the makers are planning to kickstart shoot on the mega project sometime in early 2021. Fans too have been delighted right from the get go about director Nag Ashwin and Vyjayanthi Movies reuniting for a film with Prabhas following the blockbuster success of the biographical drama Mahanati in 2018, which fetched Keerthy Suresh the National Award for Best Actress.
So far, Deepika Padukone has starred in only two South Indian ventures - her debut in Kannada in the 2006 film, Aishwarya, and 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyaan in 2014. Her return down south and that too alongside Prabhas has left fans mighty excited, who already have given a double thumbs up to their casting. The hype surrounding Prabhas 21 is sky-high and the makers will want to live up to those expectations in delivering a cracker of an entertainer.
