His son actor Abishek Bachchan has now confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan has been tested negative for COVID-19 and has also been discharged from the hospital. The 77-year-old Superstar was admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital on July 11 after he tested positive for the coronavirus. Abhishek was also tested COVID-19 positive and admitted along with his father. Just days after that, Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai was admitted to Nanavati Hospital for coronavirus - she was in home isolation before. The couple's only daughter had also been diagnosed with the coronavirus. Both Aishwarya Rai and her daughter were discharged from the hospital last week after testing negative, now Amitabh Bachchan has also been discharged. This is probably the best gift that he could give his fan.

Amitabh Bachchan witnessed his first digital release when Gulabo Sitabo premiered on Amazon Prime last month. After that, Amitabh Bachchan was shooting for the upcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati with proper precautionary measures on sets. Big B also featured in a short film titled Family, which is about the importance of social distancing. It must be noted that a section of media had reported that Amitabh Bachchan had recovered from the illness as he got tested negative for COVID-19 earlier last week. Just when the news got published on a leading Television channel, Amitabh Bachchan shared the video on his Twitter page and clarified the news as false. He also blamed the media house for being irresponsible. His tweet reads as follows: “This news is incorrect, irresponsible, fake and an incorrigible lie.”
