Due to the ongoing pandemic, the shooting of all the films across the country have been stalled for safety reasons. However, the shootings of web series, television programs and advertisement films are happening with precautionary measures. A few big films have also slowly resumed production on a minimal scale including Yash’s mega biggie KGF: Chapter 2. Mohanlal’s Drishyam 2 is expected to go on floors very soon and the preparatory works are happening at full swing. Having said that, the shooting of Akshay Kumar’s next film, Bell Bottom, started yesterday at Glasgow, Scotland.

The team of Bell Bottom left for the UK earlier this month and they were in quarantine for 14 days before starting the shoot. Akshay Kumar made the announcement about the commencement of shoot with a new video in which he was seen holding the clapboard. He posted the video and wrote, "Lights, Camera, Mask On and Action Following all the new norms and filming on for #BellBottom! It’s a difficult time but work has to go on. Need your love and luck 🙏🏻 @vashubhagnani @Vaaniofficial @humasqureshi @LaraDutta @ranjit_tiwari @jackkybhagnani @honeybhagnani".

According to reports, the story of Bell Bottom is set in the 1980s and will feature Akshay Kumar as a spy agent. Majority of the shooting will take place in the UK and the team will shoot with all precautionary measures in place. The film will feature Vaani Kapoor as the female lead while Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, Thalaivasal Vijay will also be seen in important roles. Produced by Pooja Entertainment in association with Emmay Entertainment, Bell Bottom is directed by Ranjit M Tewari. The film is tentatively scheduled to hit the screens on April 2, next year.

Bell Bottom has become one of the first big league films to go on floors and it has created a good buzz on social media. Akshay Kumar's fans have been delighted about this development. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is also gearing up for the release of his next film, Laxmmi Bomb which will have a direct OTT release on Disney + Hotstar platform. This horror comedy is directed by Raghava Lawrence and is the official Hindi remake of Kanchana. Kiara Advani will be seen as the female lead in this film.
