Viswasam is one of Ajith’s biggest blockbusters in his career and that film holds a special place in the hearts of the Tamil audience. This rural family entertainer which released for 2019 Pongal took the trade experts by shock with its phenomenal performance at the box office. The film received an overwhelming response from the family audience. Directed by Siva, Viswasam earned the love of the family audience for its beautiful and emotional portrayal of a father - daughter relationship. Similarly, the film registered a record number of impressions in its first world television premiere, thereby becoming a maximum-guaranteed movie.

Having said that, Viswasam was recently aired on Sun TV, on July 12, sunday evening at 6.30 PM. This happened to be Viswasam’s third telecast on Sun TV after its release. Now, the BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) has officially released the statistics report of Viswasam’s TRP rating and impression. Viswasam has recorded a staggering 16,120,000 impressions (from its telecast on July 12), thereby becoming the most viewed Tamil film during this lockdown (March 22 - present).

Earlier, Vijay’s Bairavaa was declared the film with highest impressions, but it has now been overtaken by Viswasam. Director Sundar C’s horror comedy, Aranmanai 2 has got the second place with 9,438,000 impressions while Sibiraj’s action cop drama, Walter secured the third place with 7,328,000 impressions. This report has been calculated for the 28th week of the year, dated between July 11 and July 17. This record breaking viewership has once again proved that Viswasam is a film that holds a strong place among the Tamil audience.

Ajith fans are completely delighted and happy about this record and the entire social media is abuzz about it. In fact, Viswasam’s production house, Sathya Jyothi Films, shared a specially designed poster for this record viewership, thanking the audience and fans for their love and support. Notably, this recent telecast’s impression is much higher than the film’s second telecast.

Sathya Jyothi Films tweeted, “#Viswasam sets a Record Breaking 16.12 Million viewership for a Tamil Film on its 3rd Telecast.
