Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's next flick Vikram has been the talk of the town for some time now and for good reasons. It is the first time the audience will be getting a taste of Kamal Haasan on the big screen after his previous outing in 2018 with Vishwaroopam 2. The upcoming action thriller is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International banner. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in the lead along with Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das in supporting roles. Vikram scheduled to be released theatrically on 3 June 2022. Despite being a namesake of a 1986 film that also starred Kamal Haasan, the two films are completely different from one another.

The film's soundtrack and background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, making this his second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Kamal Haasan after Master and Indian 2 respectively. Kamal Haasan has also written and sung a kuthu song 'Pathala Pathala' all by himself which happened to be the first single of the movie. The song went over to receive more than 36 million views on YouTube ever since its release.
Now, the team has dropped a brand new lyric video of their latest song 'Wasted'. The music has a groovy 1980s classic rock feel to it with its beats and guitar solos. It is completed with its lyrics fully written in English and also consists of elements of classical South Indian music. This Anirudh musical is crooned by him with the lyrics written by Heisenberg.
The film is touted to revolve around two siblings: one, a gangster and the other, a politician. They both kidnap a high ranking government official and trap him in their own prison. Vikram, a retired police officer, is assigned to save him and how he saves him forms the rest of the story.
