‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s fans are an ecstatic lot post the release of Sarkar, which hit screens this Diwali a couple of days back. An A. R. Murugadoss directorial, the film produced by Sun Pictures with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman featuring Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as the female leads has received a thumping response among fans with stellar box office collections.
As known already, Sarkar has grossed 100 crores making it the sixth film for Vijay to enter the 100 crore film club and that too this time in a span of just two days. Meanwhile, the action political drama had on day 1 collected an estimated 50 crores with the film now reportedly overtaking Bollywood blockbuster Sanju’s first day collections at approximately 34 crores across India.
With such a massive opening, the film follows the footsteps of the Vijay-A. R. Murugadoss combo’s previous successful blockbusters, Thuppakki and Kaththi.
