Vijay Antony is set to be seen next in his second big release of 2023, Kolai, hitting theatres worldwide on July 21. Promotions for the upcoming crime thriller film also releasing in Telugu under the title Hatya and directed by Vidiyum Munn fame Balaji Kumar are underway and the final trailer of the film is now out giving fans a glimpse at what awaits them in cinemas later this week. Kolai is Vijay Antony's second film of the year after the sensational response to his Pichaikkaran 2, which turned out to be a box office hit in Tamil, with the Telugu version as well raking in the moolah and becoming a massive commercial success.
The Kolai trailer starts off introducing Meenakshi Chaudhary as an aspiring model, who is killed before she makes it big in the world. The news of her death becomes a big sensational controversy leading to a police investigation, who look to handle it carefully since it is a sensitive case. Ritika Singh of Irudhi Suttru and Oh My Kadavule fame is playing the role of a police officer, who gets a suggestion of involving a private detective named Vinayak portrayed by Vijay Antony. The Kolai trailer then progresses to show the duo investigating several persons, who could be suspects in the high-profile case among whom are Radhika Sarathkumar, Murli Sharma, Siddhartha Shankar, Kishore Kumar, Arjun Chidambaram, Samkit Bohra, while John Vijay is cast as a senior police official.
This latest Kolai trailer is once again a treat for the eyes as the team has delivered stunning visuals, which will no doubt look grand on the big screen when the film releases in theatres this week. Produced by Infiniti Film Ventures in association with the Lotus Pictures banner and featuring music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, who is known for his work in Mookuthi Amman and Netrikann fame, the film includes a talented technical team onboard among whom include NGK and Kolamaavu Kokila fame cinematographer Sivakumar Vijayan, whose visuals are expected to be a big talking point, with Selva RK's cuts on the editing table also in full effect after his stellar work in Karnan and Sarpatta Parambarai.
