India is a country where people are very passionate about movies, sports and politics. However, if there's one thing that stands above all of these, then it would be patriotism and love for the motherland! Recently, photos of Bollywood star Aamir Khan meeting with the Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, while he was in Turkey, has stirred up quite a controversy! Aamir Khan visited Turkey to conduct recce for locations to shoot his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha, which he is planning to begin from October. While in Turkey, Aamir seems to have  met up with the country's First Lady Emine Erdogan. Pictures from this meet went viral on social media, from Sunday! This has caused many Indian netizens to call out Aamir Khan and people have been posting their dissent on this meet between the Bollywood star and the political leader!

Emine Erdogan had shared pictures of her meeting with Aamir Khan on her Twitter handle and referred to his as "world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker and director" and mentioned that she was happy that he decided to wrap up portions of his movie in Turkey. The two met in Istanbul where Aamir Khan had arrived earlier this month for filming portions of his Laal Singh Chaddha! This meeting has caused quite a furore as the Turkish President Reccip Tayyep Erdogan recently spoke out against India in the Kashmir issue, while addressing the Pakistan Parliament. Turkey has been a staunch supporter of Pakistan's claims over Kashmir and has openly spoken out against India. This has already caused relations to become strained between India and Turkey and Aamir meeting the Turkish First Lady in such a situation, has not been liked by Indian netizens!

Earlier, a report came out that Aamir Khan had refused to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while he had visited Mumbai. Aamir Khan had also spoken up about rising intolerance in India and had mentioned that he didn't feel safe here. Now, netizens are bringing up these statements and trolling Aamir for his meeting with the Turkish First Lady. People are posting a number of memes and commenting very harshly over this visit. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Oscar Award winner Tom Hanks's Forrest Gump, which won a lot of critical and commercial acclaim. This movie is being directed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan and it is only the second movie following Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom to be shot at an international location, following the COVID lockdown!
