While nepotism is an often seen phenomenon in the film industry, such was not the case in Aamir Khan’s family. While Aamir has been in the spotlight for quite some time now, his brother Faisal Khan has always maintained his distance from the glamorous world. Faisal has starred in films like Mela and Madhosh, had taken a long break from Bollywood and now it looks like he is all set to make a comeback as a director! As he is getting ready with his film, Factory, in an interview he revealed that his brother Aamir and his mother don’t know yet that he is making a directorial debut!
Talking to a leading daily, Faisal said, “Direction was always on my mind, but this happened organically. We had another director [Sharique Minhaj] on board, but due to date issues, he couldn’t continue. That’s when I decided to step in. What is interesting is that my brother and mother [Zeenat] are aware of the film, but they don’t know that I have turned director. I wanted to surprise them after finishing one schedule. I am waiting to see their reaction.”
Faisal is also turning a singer with this project. Talking about it he told the daily, “Sharique insisted that I sing the song. I had no qualms about turning singer. Although Aamir and Faisal have appeared in movies together, the two haven’t always shared a great relationship. Let’s see how the star reacts to his brother’s new venture!
